Cadillacs and other big cars from the sixties and seventies have often been described as land yachts. That all seems like hyperbole after seeing this true Chris-Craft of the highway. In an era of beige box RVs with swirl decals, this converted 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville is a breath of fresh air. Believe it or not, no modifications were done to the car except removing the trunk lid.

This Caddy RV is complete with a full-size bed, gas stove, sink, built-in fridge, fishing pole holders, and a porta-potty. It uses a built-in air lift system to raise the pop top 24″ and is equipped with air shocks/bags to handle the extra weight of the camper. The engine is  429ci which is standard fare for Cadillac in 1965.

The camper was designed in the mid-60s and was a Golden Hammer winner featured in the January 1965 issue of Mechanix Illustrated. The builder was an interior designer for the aircraft industry for many years, which influenced the well-thought-out design of this camper.

The trunk lid was retained and the car could be returned to stock. All of the glass, chrome, and trim are in excellent condition. The interior is in great condition and equipped with power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power seat, and power windows.
