Ford Mustang's 4.6l V8 Engine Gets A Turbo Kick From Turbonetics | Top Speed

The current Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0 Liter Coyote V8 engine with 412 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque, which is all fine and dandy for anyone whose love for Mustang just recently began, but what about the loyal owners of the previous version of the galloping horse? To those, we say, here’s a turbo kit made especially for you.

Turbonetics is now offering a turbo system for the 2005 to 2009 model Mustang that takes the 300 ponies found under the hood and adds 150 more! Even with a total of 550hp, the 05-09 Mustang is still street-legal in all 50 states, all for just $7,399.

The Turbonetics kit includes a modified ECU, modified fuel and timing maps, ceramic ball bearing turbocharger, Spearco front mount intercooler, and T304 Stainless TIG Welded Exhaust Piping. Aluminum TIG welded and polished intake piping stretches from the turbocharger to the intercooler and the throttle body, and a silicon molded hose allows for connection to the stock airbox. Other features include a high flow aftermarket air filter used in a stock configuration and hardware kits including fasteners, fittings, gaskets, clamps, hoses, and oil lines.

Based from what I have read earlier, Ford Mustang is the facelift, and re-skin version of their 2001 model. Mustang are too old, maybe its the right time to kill it. I think the buyers wanted a more fresh and new look car.

Does anyone knows the exact price of this kit?

where can I purchase the Turbonetics kit?

That’s a very good write up but I think your cost/HP could be reformatted a little, the low low #’s are for people with built motors, so honestly I’d include the 5000$+ for a forged short block into the $/HP there.

Not everyone needs a turbocharged monster and for many a supercharged or "lower-level" turbocharged Stang will offer more than enough power to keep them happy and smoke some ricers while at it!

agree ford should give this baby as a special edition of the mustang.. and give a lower price for it.

dang imagine a muscle car has a turbonetics kits? but $7k is not a joke... you need a lot of savings if you want this turbo kits.

wow are they offering it for all the special editions of ford mustang? but how about the factory turbo kits? are they replace it with an aftermarket parts?

Nice that this has become an off-the-shelf piece. It will be helpful to the majority of people who don’t know much of anything about tuning turbos, but are doing it anyway...

agree this is a cool one, i think they also have. because one of my friend has a speed3 and he told me he uses turbonetic kits for mazdaspeed3.

impressive parts from turbonetics. I bet this package costs a fortune to have. I wonder if they also have a kit for my mazdaspeed3.
