Featuring the 1963-only split window design, this is one of the cleanest 1963 Chevy Corvettes to make its way to Bring A Trailer.

Once upon a time, Chevrolet decided that the Corvette needed to look and be different and so, in 1963, they introduced a split rear window. While this made the car looks great, it made visibility a pain, and so the famed Split-Window Chevy Corvette coupe remained on the shelves for one year only, before retiring.

They still make for great collectibles, and in case you’d like a piece of automobile memorabilia, here’s a rather historic example of the Chevy Corvette on Bring A Trailer.

The listing stated this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe comes finished in Sebring Silver over dark blue upholstery and its 327ci V8 mates with a four-speed manual transmission. The split window came in a 1983-only, single model year format and makes for a rather rare buy today, given the limited numbers.

The listing specifies that the current owner bought this from the previous and first owner of the car. The current buyer can expect a car with removed parts, partial records, and a ton of character along with a clean California title.

Further features include concealed headlights, 15″ steel wheels with full covers, split chrome bumpers, bucket seats, and a rear cargo shelf. After acquiring it from the previous owner, the new owner turned this car into his pet project and so rebuilt a lot of it. Recent services include the carburetor, distributor, alternator, differential, brake work, an oil change, replacement of the tires, wheel bearings, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, battery, and ignition components.

The car came with exterior refinishing done in 1998 with hints of carbon fiber bodywork on the right side of the rear ends. The new owner also replaced the wiper blades. The five-digit odometer shows 24,000 miles with 1,000 added on by the new owner. The car rides on black-painted steel with spinner-style covers wrapped with 205/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw white-stripe tires.

For now, the car wears deep blue on the inside with white vinyl upholstery trimmings. If you do like this rare model, then there are only six days left to bid. The current bid stands at $90,000. The seller also admitted that the signal cancel mechanism, clock, and push-button radio do not work. Actual mileage remains unknown though the current odometer shows it to be 24,000 miles.

Either way, this is a pedigreed car and one likely to catch the interest of any classic Corvette fan.
